I provide individualized reading and academic writing instruction for students of all ages. With 21 years of teaching experience, a Doctorate in Education, and licenses in reading, special education, elementary education, and secondary English, I have successfully worked with students, including those with dyslexia, to improve their reading and writing abilities.

A Personalized Approach to Learning

My approach to learning is tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style. Drawing on the Science of Reading, and my doctoraI research I create a supportive and engaging environment to foster a love for reading and writing while building essential skills. I have experience working with students who have dyslexia and use an Orton Gillingham method of instruction when needed for an individual student. In addition, instruction is designed to be appropriate for the chronological age of a student.

Continuous Assessment Assures Results

My approach includes continually assessing your student's growth, and adjusting instruction to assure that tutoring sessions match the needs of students as they learn and grow in their skills.

Progress Reports

Individualized progress reports are sent to parents/guardians quarterly so that you can clearly see the progress your student is making and ask any questions you may have.

About Me

As an educator with a passion for fostering literacy and academic success, I am dedicated to empowering students to become proficient readers and skilled writers. My goal is to instill a love for learning while equipping students with the tools they need to thrive academically.

Tutoring Specifics- Tutoring sessions are one hour in length. Cost: $45.00 per hour.- Payment is made monthly at the first session of the month.- Initial one-hour assessment: Free of charge.- Location: Lakeside, Duluth, MN.**Summer Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:- 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Later hours are currently filled.
